Support

A native iOS app for your own self-hosted server. Your data stays on your server; nothing is sent to us.

Requirements

Getting started

  1. Open Supermate and enter your TeslaMateApi address (e.g. http://teslamate.local:8080, a Tailscale MagicDNS name, or your HTTPS tunnel).
  2. Add your token or username/password if the API is protected, then test the connection.
  3. Pick your car. That's it.

No server yet, or just want a look? Tap Demo mode on the first screen to explore the whole app with sample data.

Setting up the API by hand

The one-line installer does this for you — this section is for anyone who'd rather do it themselves. TeslaMateApi is a separate container. Most TeslaMate installs don't run it yet. Add this service to your docker-compose.yml, alongside your existing teslamate, database and mosquitto services:

teslamateapi:
  image: tobiasehlert/teslamateapi:latest
  restart: always
  depends_on:
    - database
  environment:
    - ENCRYPTION_KEY=MySuperSecretEncryptionKey
    - DATABASE_USER=teslamate
    - DATABASE_PASS=secret
    - DATABASE_NAME=teslamate
    - DATABASE_HOST=database
    - MQTT_HOST=mosquitto
    - TZ=Europe/Berlin
  ports:
    - 8080:8080

Same Postgres database as TeslaMate — match DATABASE_* to your existing service. Listens on port 8080. Protect it with an API_TOKEN (32+ characters) as a Bearer token, or set API_TOKEN_DISABLE=true on a network you trust. Full reference: tobiasehlert/teslamateapi on GitHub.

In Supermate, enter this container's address and, if set, the API_TOKEN as the token.

Never expose port 8080 straight to the internet. Reach it the same way you'd reach anything else on your home server: your own network, a Tailscale tailnet, a Cloudflare Tunnel, or any other VPN. All three let your iPhone reach the container without opening a port on your router.
